Privacy Notice
Last updated: 11 August 2026
This Privacy Notice explains how AutoNoise ("AutoNoise", "we", "us"), trading as AutoNoise AI, handles personal data when you use our website and application (the "Service"). AutoNoise is the data controller for the personal data described below and decides how and why it is processed.
1. Personal data we collect
- Account data — name, email address, phone number, password credentials.
- Vehicle data — licence plate, make, model, year and notes you add to a vehicle profile.
- Diagnosis content — audio or video recordings of vehicle noises, descriptions, notes and tags you submit, and the AI reports generated from them.
- Support messages — the content of any request you send us.
- Usage and technical data — device and browser information, IP address, log and error data, and basic product usage events.
2. Why we use it and our legal basis
- Creating and managing your account — performance of our contract with you.
- Providing the Service (storing vehicles, processing recordings, generating diagnoses, credits balance) — performance of our contract.
- Security and fraud prevention — legitimate interests in keeping the Service safe.
- Improving and debugging the product — legitimate interests; we use aggregated or minimal data where possible.
- Customer support — performance of our contract and legitimate interests.
- Marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal and accounting obligations — compliance with a legal obligation.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — cloud hosting and database providers, AI model providers used to analyse recordings, error monitoring and support tooling. They act on our instructions under contract.
- Merchant of Record — Paddle.com, which handles the sale of our products, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting and audit advisers where needed.
- Authorities — where we are required to disclose data by law or to protect our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as European Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses, together with additional technical measures where required.
5. Retention
We keep account, vehicle and diagnosis data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a diagnosis or vehicle, it is removed from your account and deleted from our systems and backups within a reasonable period. When you close your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain records (for example transaction records) to meet legal or accounting obligations.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@autonoise.app. We aim to respond within one month.
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for stored files, row-level access controls so users can only reach their own records, and restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences; these are required for the Service to work. We may use limited analytics storage to understand aggregate product usage. We do not use advertising or cross-site marketing cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but signing in will not work without essential cookies.
